IT Solutions at an Affordable Price
Designed for medical professionals who wish to implement speech recognition, simplify their office systems, and maximize time efficiencies, medical IT evaluations help us identify the most appropriate technologies for each client. The primary purpose of the evaluation is to analyze current workflow processes, examine existing IT systems, identify the best solutions for the customer’s situation, and develop an affordable, unobtrusive implementation plan. We take great pride in making our IT evaluations as thorough and helpful as possible. Each medical practice has pre-established methods of doing business and our #1 priority is to fulfill each practices’ unique requirements affordably.
What a Medical IT Eval Entails
-
Paper Recordkeeping and Filing System Analysis
Paper recordkeeping usage varies greatly between medical practices. Full paper systems are still quite common among smaller practices; hybrid electronic/paper systems are common among all practices. We highly encourage all healthcare practitioners that exclusively use paper systems to contact us for an evaluation as soon as possible. Practices that use paper systems can sometimes save over one hundred hours per month after purchasing our IT services.
-
Existing Database or EMR IT System Analysis
Many of our medical IT customers use one or more commercial databases or electronic medical record (EMR) systems within their practice. (Some hospitals have as many as 5 different enterprise-level EMR or database systems.) Familiarizing ourselves with the interface and details of the electronic systems is extremely important to developing appropriate IT solutions. If attempting to use speech recognition software with an electronic system, the system's interface is especially important. In general, systems with web-based interfaces have better compatibility.
-
Medical Lab Workspace Analysis
In addition to workflow and system analysis, Adaptive Technologies can install and configures custom workstations for pathology and medical research labs. Adaptive Technologies will examine workstation mounting options; locate wall studs, network access ports, and power access; and install equipment to facilitate true "hands free" computer operation. After performing an evaluation, we're usually able to mount systems so that flat-screen displays, input microphone, etc. are discreet and unobtrusive.
Specific Skills
Most of our medical IT customers want to know our specialties. IT has evolved into such a broad meaning (sometimes misused) that it has too many facets. Most of our medical IT skills relate to successful medical speech recognition implementation and supplemental products/services that support a larger IT plan. Here is a list of our specialties:
- Implementation and training on Dragon NaturallySpeaking within any size practice.
- Creating simple, semi-automated SOAP Note templates within MS Office for use with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Commonly used among small practices.
- Training medical professionals on how to use Dragon NaturallySpeaking with internet-based and application-based database/EMR programs. Supplementary computer training also provided if necessary.
- Installing custom networked computer terminals/workstations that use Dragon NaturallySpeaking as the primary input method. Wireless and wired network installation services also provided if necessary.

Ensuring Value and Quality
The primary benefit of our medical IT evaluations is to ensure value and quality. Be examining the details of each practice beforehand, we're able to determine which products, configuration services, and training services are necessary. Evaluations help us develop a plan so that our medical customers get the most out of their purchase. Without an evaluation, medical practices often get frustrated with products and waste hours, days, or even weeks trying to solve problems that could have been prevented with an evaluation. Adoption success rates rise to over 95% with an evaluation. Without an evaluation, adoption success rates plummet.
